Tourism is a fundamental asset to Nepal’s development. We are dedicated not only to business but also on our social responsibility to give back the local communities where we conduct our trips. We, at Himalaya Land Treks and Expedition, are working towards developing the rural communities alongside growing our company network and services. As a responsible organization, we make sure to fulfill our Corporate Social Responsibility.
As we work to promote tourism in rural areas, employment opportunities are increasing. This has helped to limit out-migration in rural communities. We try to promote local businesses and products as they are cheaper and environment-friendly. Our efforts are targeted towards the proper management of human resources which in turn will bridge the gap between men and women. We provide technical education to women that help them indulge in income generation.
Our trip packages and services encourage the usage of homestays. These homestays enable clients to indulge in the local lifestyle. They can learn more about the Nepalese culture and tradition closely.
Himalaya Land Treks and Expedition organizes trips that include volunteering projects as well. These volunteering events allow our enthusiastic clients to participate in English teaching classes. Further, there are other projects listed below that you can be a part of:
Building a school library: The majority of rural communities in Nepal lack facilities of education. With no proper classrooms and study materials, children are compelled to work in fields or indulge in other labor work. We aim at building a school library to encourage and educate these needy children in rural communities.
Sponsor for poor student: We plan to help poverty-stricken students by providing them sponsorships that cover their tuition fees. These sponsorship programs are of huge support for families who cannot send their children to school. A little help can go a long way to shape a child’s future.
Health camp: Organizing health camps in rural communities is one of our major targets. Local people can get free checkups and medicine. We have been organizing such health camps annually where we also teach local people about the importance of health and sanitation.
Volunteering: There are several volunteering opportunities available in the fields of education, construction, and agriculture. You can opt to teach in schools or volunteer in construction works to develop infrastructures in rural villages. These include painting classrooms, building toilets in schools, building a library, and so on.
