Sightseeing at Kathmandu

In the very first day, you will get to visit beautiful Kathmandu city. Here you can explore many world heritage enlisted sites. Kathmandu city offers you a mesmerizing view of historical and religious sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath, Kathmandu durbar square, etc. Kathmandu is also called a city of god. The cultural heritage and tradition in a busy city is the most precious thing to be viewed here.

Pokhara offers you a heart-catching view of nature. It is a popular tourist hub where you can relax and enjoy your holidays. Ghorepani Poon Hill

You reach Poon Hill after passing Ghorepani. Poon Hill viewpoint, located at an altitude of 3,210 m is the highest elevation of this easy trekking trail. From here you are presented with breath-taking views of the Annapurna range like the Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Gangapurna (7454m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and the Pisang Peak (6091m) among others. The feeling from the top is simply peaceful as you are surrounded by mountains from every side. With the sun rays striking on the mountains, you can have a picturesque moment with the snow-capped mountains.

Ethnic villages

During Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, you pass through many ethnic villages. You will pass villages like Nayapul, Ghandruk, Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tadapani, etc. You walk through the forests and villages of Tikhedhunga before making your stop at Ghorepani. The Gurung inhabited village of Ghorepani offers a vivid and authentic mountainous lifestyle and culture. The people of the different community welcome you with a different culture. The village offers incredible hospitality and cultural exploration.

Itinerary of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft)

Overnight at 3 star Hotel

Welcome to the capital city of the mountainous country Nepal. As you arrive at the Tribhuvan International airport (TIA) of Kathmandu, a Himalaya Land Treks personnel will be present to welcome you. In a private vehicle, he drives you through the streets of Kathmandu and makes your arrangements in the hotel. After checking in the hotel, you may spend the day as you wish. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Today, we take a guided city tour of Kathmandu valley exploring the historical, cultural, and architectural sites of the city. We visit the UNESCO world heritage sites of Buddhist shrine Boudhanath, The monkey temple- Swayambhunath, ancient Durbar squares, Pashupatinath, and various monuments of the city. In the evening, we may stroll around the markets and grab some items required for the trekking. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2690ft) |6 hrs.

After breakfast, we leave from Kathmandu on a bus towards the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. We enjoy the scenes and landscapes as our journey approaches through Prithvi Highway. The drive takes around 6 hours passing alongside Marsayangdi River. We check in to a hotel in Pokhara and refresh our muscles and energy. You may stroll around the streets of Pokhara enjoying the nightlife and vibes. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 4: Drive from Pokhara (820m/2690ft) to Nayapul (1070m/3510ft) 1:30 hrs and then trek to Tikhedhunga (1590m/5217ft) 3 hrs.

After breakfast with the amazing lake view in Pokhara, we prepare for the journey of the day. We then drive to Nayapul by Jeep wandering the beautiful hills and rivers. After about one and a half hours drive, we reach the starting point of the trek. The trail to Tikhedhunga will let us see the mixed settlements of Brahmins, Chhetri, and Gurung. Overnight at Tikhedhunga.

Day 5: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2880m/9449ft) 6 hrs

With the breakfast view of Mount Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Mount Annapurna (8091m) from Tikhedhunga, we take our steps ahead to Ghorepani. En route, we trek through dense rhododendron forests filled with a diverse array of wildlife. Ghorepani offers the exploration and insight of the Gurung culture. The panoramic view of the mountains is observed in the pleasant hospitality of the Gurung people.

Day 6: Morning hike from Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m/10531ft) 2 Hrs and again back to Ghorepani and then trek to Tadapani (2630m/8629ft) 6 hrs.

This morning, we wake up early and hike for about 1 or 2 hours to reach Poon Hill (3210 m). We can see the first ray of sunlight striking in the majestic Annapurna range. The panoramic views of Mount Fishtail (6997m) and Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m) add ambiance to the wonderful sight. For breakfast, we return to the lodge in Ghorepani. After about 6 hours walk from Ghorepani in the forests and villages of Annapurna, we reach Tadapani for the night stay.

Day 7: Trek Tadapani to Ghandruk (1960m/6430ft) 4hrs

After taking breakfast, we walk the way through forests for around 4 hours from Tadapani to explore the splendid village of Ghandruk. This Gurung inhabited village in the lap of Annapurna highlights the beautiful view of Hiunchuli (6441m), Fishtail (6997m), and Annapurna IV (7525m). Exploration of Gurung hospitality and culture is the reward of this wonderful trek to Ghandruk. We meet other trekkers in this junction and may exchange smiles and words of the trek. Overnight stay at Ghandruk.

Day 8: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul (1070m/3510ft) |3-4 Hrs and Drive to Pokhara (820m/2690ft)|1.5 Hrs

Waving goodbyes to the beautiful trek and mountains, we descend from Ghandruk through the stone stairs. We walk for about 3-4 hours passing the village of Tatopani on our way. Our trek ends when we arrive at Nayapul. From there, we drive to Pokhara on the Pokhara-Baglung Highway. We check in to the hotel and spend our evening in the gorgeous atmosphere of Pokhara and Phewa Lake. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft) | Farewell Dinner

Today, we travel back to Kathmandu waving goodbye to the lake city of pristine Pokhara. We travel alongside the Marsayangdi River in Prithivi National Highway. We drive for about 6 hours, stopping for lunch in Malekhu Bazaar. After reaching Kathmandu, we check in to the hotel and take the rest. You may spend the last evening in Nepal strolling around the neighborhood streets. On the final day on the trip, you will indulge in a farewell dinner hosted by the Himalaya Land Treks. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 10: Transfer to International Airport for the next destination.

Breakfast

A company representative will drive you to the Tribhuvan International airport with your luggage. You will see the streets of Kathmandu before the final departure. The last day of the trip ends with a farewell and waving goodbyes to the memories and moments of the trek. We wish you a safe flight and good days ahead.
