The Sikles Trek begins with a drive to the Pokhara city- the tourist hub of Nepal. Situated beside the beautiful Phewa Lake, the Pokhara city is a relaxing hotspot for tourists visiting the country. It is also the starting point of most trekking journeys in the Annapurna. Blessed with the panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain peaks like the Machhapuchhre (6997m) and the Dhaulagiri (8167m), Pokhara is an exciting natural metropolis with many historical and cultural sites to visit as well.  
Likewise, the Sikles Trek has trails that take trekkers to ethnic Magar and Limbu villages of the region. It presents the chance to experience the ethnic culture of the Himalayan people of Nepal nearby. Itinerary of Sikles Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft)

Overnight at 3 star Hotel

You may arrive in Kathmandu at any time. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a Himalaya Land Treks representative who will help you get transferred to your Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2690ft) | 6-7 hrs

Today, you will be embarking on your journey to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The drive takes about 6 hours and goes through the countryside, presenting you with views of terrace farmlands and vast fields of agriculture besides the flowing Trishuli River. Pokhara is the famous tourist hub of Nepal and a great place to relax and enjoy a leisurely time beside the Phewa Lake. Upon arriving in Pokhara, you will be transferred to your Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Ghale Kharka |1669m/5476ft|3-4 hrs

From Pokhara, you follow along the trail to Ghale Kharka- a village that is mostly occupied by ethnic Gurung people. The trek is mostly done on a flat terrain that is always accompanied by the views of gorgeous mountains like Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhre Himal (6997m), Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), and many others. The village is a terraced acreage with traditional houses. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Ghale Kharka.

Day 4: Trek from Ghale Kharka to Sikles |1980m/6496ft|4-5 Hrs

From Ghale Kharka, you will trek along narrow trekking trail that goes through ridges and highlands towards Sikles. The natural environment is very beautiful as the terrain is filled with emerald woodlands with rhododendron bushes lining the journey. The green canopy of the woods and the colossal ivory peaks of the Annapurna make the trekking journey a pleasant journey. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Sikles.

Day 5: Trek from Sikles to Taprang |1600m/5249ft|5-6 Hrs

The 6-hour trekking journey from Sikles to Taprang is filled with a wonderful landscape that is blessed with ornate pasturelands and vast fields of alpine forests rich with maple, oak and bamboo trees. The woods along the journey are also home to many indigenous birds and elusive animals. The peaceful journey is accompanied by the colossal Himalayas of the Annapurna range. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Taprang.

Day 6: Trek from Taprang to Pokhara via Yangjakot |1440m/4724ft|2-3 Hrs Trek |2 Hrs Drive

From Taprang, you will follow the trekking trail towards Pokhara via the village of Yangjakot. It takes about 1 to 2 hours of trekking to the village from where you will then have a drive back to Pokhara. In Pokhara, you can enjoy the lively streets at Lakeside and enjoy the pleasant evening. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 7: Drive to Kathmandu | Farewell Dinner | 1300m/4265ft| 6-7 Hrs

6-7 hrs

From Pokhara, you will bid goodbye to the Annapurna Mountains for the last time as you drive back to Kathmandu along the same highway. Shop for souvenirs and explore the city for the rest of the day. You can participate in a farewell dinner hosted by the Himalaya Land Treks to complete the trip. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 8: Departure

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be dropped off at the airport from where you will depart.

  • Socks: thick wool blend and thin cotton to be worn in combination - ensure boots fit such combination
