As you arrive in Kathmandu, you’ll be guided to the hotel and can go for sightseeing. Kathmandu city offers you a view of many historical sites. The UNESCO enlisted world heritage site gives you a view of preserved culture and tradition. The city offers you traditional essence at busy streets.

You trek to Ghandruk, the largest Gurung settlement and the best place to discover Gurung culture. You explore the old town of Gurung community along with many other cast and creeds. You pass through many beautiful villages like Chistibung, Bayeli, Ghorepani, Khopra, Mohara, Tadapani, Swanta, Nangi, Dobato, Galeshowr, etc. You are welcomed with a warm gesture by the different communities with their own unique culture.
After you trek to Khopra Danda you hike towards Khayer Lake and visit the Brahma temple nearby. You explore the area including the Khopra ridge and Khayer Lake. Khayer Lake is a sacred place for Hindus where pilgrims flock during Janai Purnima. Trekking to Khopra Danda gives you a more amazing view of mountain ranges. Though the trek route to Khayer lake is a bit difficult, it is counted as one of the most adventurous treks.
The Poon Hill Trek is a perfect way to take in the many hallmarks of the region in a short amount of time. The stunning sunrise view from trekking to Poon Hill has made it so famous. From here you are presented with breath-taking views of the Annapurna range like the Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Gangapurna (7454m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and the Pisang Peak (6091m) among others.
The best time to do Khopra Danda Trek is Spring (February- May) and the autumn period (September – December) is also good to make this trek. Although this trek can be taken throughout the year if you are experienced and can access the trek on your own. It’s better not to trek during Manson as the route gets slippery. It is recommended to have prior trekking experience, but beginners can also complete this trek.

You’ll land in Tribhuvan International Airport and a Himalaya Land Treks’ representative will welcome you and guide you to our hotel. You’ll freshen up and meet the trek guide who will give you a short orientation of the trek. If you arrive in the morning, you can go for short sightseeing inside Kathmandu valley. You prepare for the trek and can go shopping if you need anything for the trek. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Starting your journey, you will drive to Pokhara or take a flight. Taking flight saves your time and you can go sightseeing in Pokhara city. You can visit the Phewa Lake, Davis Falls, World Peace Stupa, Mahendra Cave, and you can view the sunset from Sarangkot. In the evening, you can relax at Lakeside along with the views of the Mt. Machhapuchhre (6997m). Overnight stay in Pokhara.
After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Ghandruk from Pokhara. First, you’ll drive to Nayapul that is 45 km away and dive takes around one and a half hours. From Nayapul, you’ll start your trek towards Ghandruk. You trek through the muddy trail at the beginning and descend gradually. Then, you'll take the trail along the Modi River and cross several swing bridges to reach Ghandruk. Ghandruk is one of the biggest Gurung villages in the country and is known for a unique display of Gurung culture. You also get nice views of snowcapped mountains from Ghandruk. Overnight stay in Ghandruk.
Next day, you can visit the Gurung museum in and monastery with panoramic views of mountains. Then, you start your trek towards Tadapani and trek through deep rhododendron forests and reach a place called Bhaisi Kharka. You’ll rest there and have lunch. After lunch, you head uphill with nice views of the Annapurna range. After the walk with beautiful views, you’ll reach Tadapani. Overnight stay in Tadapani.
Further, you head to Dobato from Tadapani. You'll leave the trail leading to Annapurna Base camp and head to least traveled trail towards Dobato. You’ll come across many beautiful traditional villages with rich culture. During the trek, you can see the incredible scenery of the snowcapped mountains and also get to explore the beautiful villages and learn about their lifestyle and cultures. After a gradual ascent through forests and villages, you’ll reach Dobato. Overnight stay in Dobato.
This day, you’ll trek to the last stop before Khopra Danda, Chistibung. Before heading to Chistibung, you can hike to Muldai viewpoint in the early morning to view the sunrise. You reach Bayeli Kharka from where you can get nice sight of the Dhaulagiri range from a close distance. Then, after around three hours of trek, you’ll reach Chistibung which is a small community. Overnight stay in Chistibung.
Finally, you’ll head to Khopra from Chistibung. The walk is easy but because of the uphill climb, you may get tired fast. This day’s trek is short so you can take rest more frequently. You may be able to witness the wild goat and Danphe- the national bird of Nepal, on the way to Khopra. Upon the arrival to Khopra ridge, you’ll be able to view Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri ranges from a close distance. Overnight stay in Khopra.
This day you’ll explore the Khopra area and hike to Khayer Lake. The hike is exhausting but the beauty of the lake is worth the effort. You can visit the Brahma temple and see the beautiful view of snowcapped mountains in the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri ranges. You’ll return after lunch and you can also visit the near settlements and learn the lifestyle and culture of the people living in those communities. Overnight stay in Khopra.
You’ll have breakfast and then watching the panoramic view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, you head towards Swanta. You descend towards Chistibung at the beginning and then rest for a time being. Next, you head through the trail that goes up and then down in an instant, which takes you to Swanta. Swanta is a beautiful Magar village but it is less popular. Overnight stay in Swanta.
This day, you head to Ghorepani and the trail is easy. You move further towards Chitre at the beginning through forests of rhododendron and the scent of the flower is sweet. The trail is smooth and there is not much going up and down. After hours of trek, you’ll reach Ghorepani and can rest at a local lodge. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.
Early morning, you’ll get ready and head to Poon Hill. The hike takes about one hour and you get a nice sunrise view from the top. You also get a magnificent view of Annapurna South (7219m), Nilgiri (7061m), Tukuche (6920m), Dhaulagiri ranges, and many other Himalayas. Then, you'll return to Ghorepani and have breakfast. After breakfast, you trek down to Nayapul via Banthanti, Ulleri, Tikhedhunga, and Birethanti. You’ll drive back to Pokhara from Nayapul. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Next day, you’ll go to Sarangkot for sunrise view and have breakfast. You’ll drive to Kathmandu or can fly back to Kathmandu. If you fly back, you can sightsee in Pokhara or sightsee in Kathmandu after you land in Kathmandu. You’ll have farewell dinner hosted by the Himalaya Land Treks and rest. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
